2018 marks the 20th anniversary of Peter Connelly carrying the torch from Nathan McCree and Peter’s first foray into the Tomb Raider series. To celebrate his 20th anniversary, he enlisted the most renowned, A-list arrangers, musicians and composers which consists of Dr. Richard Niles (orchestrator/arranger/musician), Isobel Griffiths (orchestra contractor), Tina Guo (celebrity solo cellist), Julie Elven (solo vocalist) Ben Fenner (recording/mixing/mastering engineer), Iain Mackenzie (choir master) and Martin Iveson (musician/composer/audio production mastering) in an attempt to take his old soundtracks to the next level.

Besides Peter’s team of musicians, music arrangers and composers, the other members of the Tomb Raider: The Dark Angel Symphony team comprises of Ash Kaprielov (project manager), Inna Vjuzhanina (Tomb Raider: The Dark Angel Symphony artist), Jill de Jong (official Lara Croft model), Kim Chandler (former present of British Voice Association), Matt Chrich (artist and sculptor), J. R. Milward (designer and crafter of the pendants inspired by the artefacts from Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness) and so forth. At the time of writing, its Kickstarter campaign already kicked off as of Wednesday 17th October and it ends on Thursday 1st November. At the moment, it garnered £44,384 out of £180,000 and 361 backers.

Peter Connelly and his team’s objective is to produce a studio recording of his music with an 82-piece orchestra (including choir) hand chosen by Isobel Griffiths, followed by Dr Niles arranging Peter’s music and Tina Guo performing as a cello soloist. The studio album will be recorded at Air Lyndhurst Studios in London where its modern facilities will fulfil the album’s production criteria. Kickstarter backers will have the chance to own exclusive merchandise such as art prints, jewellery and sculptures but it depends on which reward tier they choose and can afford. Additionally, there will be a golden, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend a studio recording and memorabilia such as Murti Schofield’s hand-written notes for Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, Peter Connelly’s original Master CD of Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness score from 2002 recorded at Abbey Road, digital download, CD and vinyl album versions of Tomb Raider: The Dark Angel Symphony and remastered versions of the Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness soundtracks.

If the campaign somehow manages to exceed its initial pledge goal (and its possible stretch goals), a live orchestra concert may be considered, according to the Tomb Raider: The Dark Angel Symphony Kickstarter Launch video.
