Super Mario was about to make gaming history and he was bringing his brother with him this time!

I selected 1 player even when my sister was playing with me, because lets be fair. No one wants to be Luigi (sorry mate! Lol!)

Memories of the game started even before you played Super Mario Bros. Taking the cartridge out of the case, blowing on the cartridge to ensure it worked... then inserting it into the NES and closing the lid.

POWER ON, naturally I selected 1 player even when my sister was playing with me, because lets be fair. No one wants to be Luigi (sorry mate! Lol!) The first stage was tutorial perfection, without the current day animation and text prompts popping up telling you every 5 seconds every button to press.

It was obvious.  You jump up to hit the question mark blocks, Mushrooms are good, Stars are good, 1UP secret mushrooms are hidden and sometimes invisible. Gaps in the floor are not good!!  Everything else kills you and finally, Marios head is made of steel!   I remember finding the warp at the 2nd level, jumping over the roof of the underground stage and warping to Worlds 2,3 or 4.  Bowser always lives in a castle and you will forever be frustrated by the fact that you will dispose of him and there would be Toad waiting for you instead of Princess Peach. But lastly, who can forget the iconic music when you die, the sharpness of the music cutting out the ambient background noise to remind you that you have just lost a life!
