Twister is a game of physical skill produced by the Milton Bradley Company. It is played on a large plastic mat that is spread on the floor either in your bedroom living room or anywhere with a bit of space!!
Its a great way to liven up your party!!
The mat has four rows of large coloured circles on it with a different colour in each row: red, yellow, blue and green. A spinner is attached to a square board and is used to determine where the player has to put their hand or foot. Now the game starts to come into its own, the spinner is divided into four labeled sections: right foot, left foot, right hand and left hand.
Each of those four sections is divided into the four colours (red, yellow, blue and green). After spinning, the combination is called (for example: "right hand yellow") and players must move their matching hand or foot to a circle of the correct colour. In a two-player game. Due to the scarcity of colored circles, players will often be required to put themselves in unlikely or precarious positions!!! This is the part where if there is both male and females playing it can be very very funny!!
A person is eliminated when they fall or when their elbow or knee touches the mat. There is no limit to how many can play at once, but more than four is a tight fit.
Twister is a classic party game that is as much fun for kids today as it was decades ago. Set the spinner in motion to tell the players which hand or foot to place on which coloured dot on the vinyl play mat. Watch your friends get twisted up in knots trying to obey the spinner without falling down. Fun and physical, it is a great way to get a slow party going, or to liven up a quiet afternoon.
Did you know.....there is publicly available instructions on how to alter a Twister game to make it accessible to colour-blind individuals and to completely blind individuals!!
