"Night Slashers" is a 2D side-scrolling beat 'em up title that was developed and published by Data East back in 1994.
The game feels like Double Dragon with zombies, werewolves, mummies, and all sorts of other monstrosities.

I found Night Slashers to be an interesting game. Data East has cranked out beat 'em ups for the arcade. This was another beat em up game like that many acardes had at this time.
The game play is rather basic in which you go around fighting and killing all of these monsters. The bad guys are a range of monsters from zombies to allsorts. There were tall deformed humans whose heads splattered upon dying. The game also had interesting bosses as well with one of them looking like Frankenstein.
Back in 1994 me and two of my friends used to play this pretty much every weekend without fail, it was the same year I got a master system 2 and as you guys know back then they were the best console you could get.
