Star Wars Arcade by Atari literally puts you in the cockpit of an X-Wing fighter in the vector world of the early 80's.
You are Luke Skywalker and taking the controls of Red Five aim to destroy the Death Star and save the Rebel Alliance from total destruction from the evil Empire. Dog fighting with enemy TIE fighters, enter the trench where you have to carefully negotiate the tunnel and hit the exhaust point to destroy the Death Star.
The soundtrack pumping behind your in a retro digitised version of the original along with digitised voices of the key chracters make this an immersive experience. The vector graphics are clear and bright and do the job beautifully. To top it all is the amazing sit down version with cool graphics and a cool controller.
This classic game lived up to the movie in a gaming world of the early 80's and stood out amongst many shooters of the time. Star Wars made you feel like you were part of the rebel alliance fighting against the evil empire as you try to save the galaxy!!
