Who would win in a fight – Mario or Kirby? Samus or Link? Pikachu or Star Fox? There is only one way to find out and Super Smash Bros for the N64 was a fighting game with a difference.
Super Smash Bros for the N64 was a fighting game with a difference.Bringing together characters from famous Nintendo franchises, we were finally allowed to play out our dreams of pitting our heroes against each other. With twelve characters, playable across twelve different stages, and with an armoury of interesting items, Super Smash Bros provided a platform for players to let loose.
Sniper Wolf
We were allowed to witness the brawn of Donkey Kong match up against the power of Captain Falcon, and the speed of Pikachu contrasted against the quirky moves of Yoshi. Its successors – Melee for the Gamecube, and Brawl for the Wii – were well reviewed, but neither commanded the sheer adoration and loyalty that greeted this N64 classic. Its following has only expanded as time has gone on, and this title remains a staple in competitions all over the world. Nintendo, we salute you!
