Choosing my first Pokemon - Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle was the hardest decision of my life. I opted for Charmander because I bought Pokemon Red and realised it would eventually turn in the beast on the front cover Charizard!

Choosing my first Pokemon - Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle was the hardest decision of my life. I opted for Charmander because I bought Pokemon Red and realised it would eventually turn in the beast on the front cover Charizard!

Naming my nemesis and beating him at several key points during the game was a tense battle or strategy and patience.

Then completing the game by beating the Elite 4 and eventually capturing Mewtwo!!!

Got to Catch 'em all, 150 Pokemon existed in the game, however you could only capture 130 I think in each of the versions, encouraging you to find and capture version specific Pokemon, then trading with friends.

You only had a team of 6 Pokemon and had to spend many hours training them up making them evolve into more powerful Pokemon. The aim of the game was to capture as many as you could whilst going through Kanto beating the 8 gym leaders who would give you a badge upon victory. When all 8 were collected, you challenged the Elite 4.

There were loads of side quests and the replay factor was brilliant!
