Match Day is one of the most iconic games of the Spectrum era, not just for it's sentimental value, which its quite big, but also for it's value as a game.
Match Day still has a iconic ring to it
The presentation, graphics and sound, and especially gameplay turned this game into one of the best games to scratch the surface of the Spectrum world of its time.
The original game has it's faults but most were corrected in the sequel, but its still a brilliant game. You can change the names of competitions and best of all you can change the name of all the teams including your own!
For us this together with Manic Miner is the game name of reference in the ZX Spectrum hall of fame. Match Day is still so much fun to play. You can play whole tournaments even back in the day, and lead your named team to cup victory. Match Day still has a magic ring to it after all these years and for playabilty it is still up there with the best of them!
